Mumbai, Feb 10: The eleventh Goregaon Vichar Bharati Sammelan, on the topic of  'national brotherhood in crisis' under the aegis of Goregaon Karnataka Sangh was held on Sunday February 8 morning, at Sri Durgadevi Saraf Auditorium, Malad (West) on Sapalya Seva Sangh Dais erected for the occasion. 
 
Litterateur and eminent critic Giraddi Govindaraju presided over the programme and initiated the programme by installing 11 holy pitchers(Kalasha).  He also released  'Dande', a collection of short stories by Srinivas Jokatte and the special issue of 'Mumbelaku' journal edited by U S Karant.
 

Sapalya Seva Sangh president Jayaram M Sapaliga inaugurated the Sammelan by lighting the lamp. 
 
Giraddi Govindaraju, speaking on the occasion, said that the intellectuals exhibit their leftist stance, since they totally rely on logic to perceive things in life. " Our life would have been much easier, had there were one sided solutions to various issues as perceived  by intellectuals.  These intellectuals  should properly identify the root cause of problems. It is impossible for us to forget the emotional bond we have with our language. The closeness one feels towards his mother tongue is stronger than the one he has with his own mother.  Mother tongues create pleasant, unexplainable emotions deep within us," he said.
 
Ramesh Shivapura, Shakuntala R Prabhu, Aparna, Pratap R Kotian and others were present at the dais.
 
Goregaon Karnataka Sangh president S M Shetty welcomed the gathering and delivered the introductory address.  Honorary secretary Padmaja P Mannur proposed vote of thanks.
 
T Acharya compered the programme.
 
During the seminar on language, Vani Ucchilkar spoke on advantages and disadvantages of education system and Shimunje Parari spoke on the role of educated people in the modern society. 
 
Ramesh K Shetty was the chief guest while Sumita Gujaran compered the programme.
