Udupi, Feb 6: The seventh conference of Corporation Bank Retired Officers Association (CBROA) was held on Friday February 6 morning, at Sri Raghavendra Math Auditorium here.
District and sessions judge K N Phaneendra inaugurated the conference on Friday morning.
Speaking on the occasion, Judge Phaneendra said that inclination towards rendering social service in the society has been declining over the years. He felt, that a study needs to be conducted for understanding the changing behavioural pattern of the humans. “The people should follow the ideals cherished by the retired professionals, even after they retire from service and try to make use of their rich experience. The retired persons need to pursue humanitarian vocations by rendering social service for the benefit of the society. The retired professionals ought to render their yeomen services, towards bringing the youth who are going astray, to the mainstream. The youth are lagging behind as far as providing humanitarian services is concerned, whereas retired bankers of the district have been involved with social service in a big way. As per the statistics, youth in the age group of 18 to 35 are involved with most of the criminal cases. Therefore, the youngsters need to be guided properly, to be able to contribute to the welfare of the society, he observed.
Eminent journalist and Prasar Bharati former chairman M V Kamat released the souvenir brought out on same occasion.
