Udupi, Feb 24: Yet again, ten-year-old Thanushree Pithrody created two Golden Book of World Records by performing 62 forward rolls in Dhanurasana yoga posture in one minute and another, by becoming the fastest Yoga exponent to perform 100 forward rolls in Dhanurasana posture in one minute 40 seconds. Thanushree exhibited her prowess in Dhanurasana posture at Cecily's high school ground here on Saturday, February 23.
The performance was organized by Venkatamana Sports and Culturals Pithrody and Badagubettu Credit Cooperative Society led by Jayakar Shetty Indrali.
With her stellar act, Thanushree, daughter of Uday kumar and Sandhya, made many audience to get goose bumps. People out there lauded her achievement with repeated rounds of applause in support of her talent.
Manish Vishnoy handed over two certificates to Thanushree.
Thanushree dedicated her achievements to the martyrs who were recently killed in a terrorist attack at Pulwama.
Manish Vishnoy, Asian head of Golden Book of world records, said, "Thanushree has created two world records today. These two are very tough ones for anyone to improve upon. I really appreciate that the girl performed very well. It was really the toughest pose ever seen and performance was extra-ordinary."
Manish further expressed gratitude towards the people of Udupi for supporting Thanushree in a big way. "As far as her talent is concerned, she will be able to create many more new records in future. Today we have handed over to her provisional certificate. The certificate mentions about the record-breaking feat and number of times she acquired Dhanurasana postures within the stipulated time," he explained.
By way of further clarification about the certificate presented to Thanushree, he stated that whenever the company receives applications from a candidate, the company prepares a provisional certificate. Final certificate would be issued after the final screening of the video.
Thanushree said, "I am very happy that I could create two world records again this year. I was learning yoga, when I was small. I used to practise this yoga posture, Dhanurasana, at our terrace of my home. I used to practice at Ajjarkad stadium too. My parents extended full support to my efforts all through. Besides this, our family friends, teachers, community organizations etc have supported. Because of them, I was able to achieve this feat."
Her mother Sandhya expressed elation at her daughter's achievement in entering Golden book of World Records again. She said Thanushree put in hard work in achieving this mastery, when continuing with other activities. "We have been with her always. Besides this, she is a Bharath Natyam dancer and Yakshagana artiste. In 2019 she has created two world records in one day. That has made us so proud we feel blessed to have a daughter like her."
Jayakar Shetty Indrali, managing director of Badagubettu Credit Cooperative Society, said, 'may God may bless her with the ability to create many more records in the days to come'.
Pramod Madhwaraj, former district in-charge minister, Yashpal Suvarna, president, Undivided Dakshina Kannada District Fish marketing federation, Sugandhi Shekhar, Nagesh Kumar Udyavar, Sr Maisie A C, Superior and Joint secretary of St Cecily's Institutions, and Sr Vibha, head mistress of Cecily Kannada medium school, were present.
Fr William Martis and Yuva Billava Vedike donated Rs 10000 each in appreciation of the young girl's talent.
