Udupi, Feb 23: Nisha James, who was appointed as superintendent of police (SP) of the district recently, took charge on Saturday, February 23 from hitherto SP Laxman Nimbargi.
The transfer was made by the government in a communication dated February 20.
Nisha James in a message to the people said that she is new to the district and will study the problems faced by the people soon.
“Law and order in the district is the first priority.”Nisha James said.
Nisha James, was commandant, 4th Battalion, KSRP, Bengaluru till now.
She is a former student of the BA (Honours) and MA courses in English Literature at Delhi University’s Lady Shri Ram College.
She had secured the 179th rank out of 998 selections made through the 2012 civil service exam.
