Hassan, Feb 16: "I am not clerk of any party. I have been working as a clerk of 6.5 crore people of the state of Karnataka. I am proud to do the works of my people like a clerk," chief minister H D Kumaraswamy said in a taunting tone referring to the statement of BJP national president Amit Shah.
Amit Shah had ridiculed Kumaraswamy in the BJP convention that was held in Raichur and had said that Kumaraswamy is not a chief minister of the state but clerk of the Congress party.
Speaking to the scribes at Chennarayapatna of the taluk, Kumaraswamy further said, "As a president of the party ruling the country, Amit Shah should not speak in such a low mannered language. Is Amit Shah not aware of what the leader of the opposition in the state and state president of his party is doing? Why he is not talking about the state president of his party who is conducting 'Operation Kamala' repeatedly and buying the MLAs of Congress and JD (S)?"
Replying to a query on the audio tape issue, the CM said, "Anyone can say that the sound heard in the audio tape is that of former CM Yeddyurappa. The government will decide soon on holding a SIT inquiry on the issue,"
On the accusation of local MLA Preetham Gowda, the chief minister clarified, "There is no truth in the accusations made by Preetham Gowda. As he is accusing us of murder, the culture of BJP can be known."
