Bengaluru, Feb 16: MLC and parliamentary secretary of revenue department, Ivan D'Souza has urged to form a Commission for the Christian community in order to know the standard of living, financial and social status of the community.
‘’Rs 200 crore is reserved in the recent state budget announced by CM Kumaraswamy, which is the highest grant so far given to the community in the whole country,” Ivan said.
Ivan also said that chief minister Kumaraswamy and leaders of the party will be felicitated by the community for their kind gesture.
Ivan also said that this grant should be used for the protection of old churches in the state, development of cemeteries, construction of community centers, organizing skill development and employ-ability, building of lodging facilities for students and employees who come to the city from rural areas for studies and employment and also the government has to form plans at concessional rates for the Christians to undertake pilgrimage to holy places of Christianity.
