Mangaluru: Valentine’s Day - Miscreants attack flower shop at Karangalpady

Mangaluru, Feb 14: Iris Flower Shop near Karangalpady in the city was attacked on Thursday, February 14.

It is suspected that this is the handiwork of rightwing Hindu organizations, who are opposed to the celebration of Valentine's Day.

The shop was decorated with roses on account of Valentine's Day. Three miscreants, who arrived on bike, damaged the flower pots in the shop and escaped from the spot.

This incident occurred under the limits of Kadri police station.

    Most Kuwaiti's celeberate Valentines day in their Chalet( Beach Homes) in Mina Al Zour area ….Some bedoun Kuwaiti's celebrate Valentines day in Jahra desert tents with their Camels and Sheep's...also they go to entertainment City in Doha, Kuwait with their kids and family...

    I am sure you like Kuwaiti Arda / Sword dance and incense Bukor…Bukor is a very expensive incense...favorite of Kuwaitis...

    If you have 'Durbeen'....you can look for them from a distance and keep broom ready for action....right???...See one more advantage of having Durbeen….it should motivate you to buy it from Belman Santhe...Sooner the better...

There all celebrated all festivals irrespective of any caste, creed, and religion. But, what happened on this Valentine's day is ridiculous. God only can help these idiots who did it.

    Hii langoolji, you have beautifully explained about how Kuwaitis celebrate their Valentine's Day. It's really nice to know that many celebrate their Valentine day with their animals. Yes, they are the main part of the lives of many people. . Others celebrate with their families, yet other with their old parents/grand parents/friends/class mates. But very few have misunderstood the word Valentine and create some indecent scenes and deliver vulgar speeches. I have no problem in Kirem.. Bajrangis are good here in our area.. So no question of lifting the broom at all.. But haa, "durbeen" I will buy at the earliest from belman santhe itself.. . Wish you and your family and also everyone a beautiful Valentine day...     Your suggestion makes me feel that probably you promote FEKU Hinduism..., knowing or un-knowingly...!!!!

    If one analyse your point of view...., Rose means Western(Christian) & Mallige means Desi(Hindustani)...., so you have no opposition to celebrate Lovers day..., thus arguing you case to embracing lovers day (i.e, christian/western) with Mallige(desi)..., this is in my view nothing but promoting FEKU Hinduism...,

    Valentine's day was not that popular but lovers days were there without any restriction/objection or interference from any sang parivar or Bhajrangies.

    I am in Kuwait since long and even the people from Muslim world take part in Valentine’s Day, Shops are selling flowers to those who participate in such events. Government or religious heads do not interfere or impose rules on people/public. It’s not a religious event and in India there religious, communally rusted patients who instigate peace in the society. Recently Pope came to Abudhabi and organized mass for the believers and government provided all the support. Our religious fundamentalists are stealing people rights. Donkey character.
