Mangaluru, Feb 11: In an incident which happened at an apartment complex at Vyasanagara near KPT in the city on the night of Sunday February 10, a person who was agitated at the behaviour of another family residing in the same complex torched his own house.

The person who committed this strange act was Mahesh, resident of fifth floor of the said apartment complex. This incident happened between 8.30 and 9 pm.

Mahesh had an altercation with a family residing in another flat in the same apartment complex relating to space for vehicle parking. The two families fought often on this issue, it is said. On Sunday night, the fight broke out again. Mahesh, who got agitated, could not control his emotions and started fire in his own flat, it is stated.

When fire broke out in the apartment, Mahesh’s wife and son were at home. As soon as this incident came to their attention, the flat managing committee called the fire brigade. Firemen rushed to the complex and doused the flames.

However, in the case registered relating to this incident, reason was shown as accidental fire. Some items inside the said flat were burnt down in the incident.

This reminds me of what we learnt in school, that Kalidasa sat on the branch of a tree and started cutting it from the tree.

I liked your comment and it matches as well for the incident what he did. Foolish behavior which latter he may repent. Sufferer is his own family so sad.
