Tumakuru, Feb 10: Hours after BJP president B S Yeddyurappa accepted that was indeed his voice in audio tape released by CM, deputy chief minister G Parameshwara on Sunday said that the BJP chief must quit politics.
Speaking to reporters in Tumakuru on Sunday February 10, Parameshwara said, "If Yeddyurappa agrees that he indeed spoke to JD(S) leader, I will ask the speaker to take appropriate action against him. Earlier, he had given a statement that if the allegations were proved he would resign from active politics. Now since he has agreed, he has to quit and his membership from the party must be cancelled.
"BJP does not believe in democracy. Yeddyurappa's statement on the audio has proved it. This is the worst level of politics by the BJP," he added.
Earlier BJP president B S Yeddyurappa on Sunday agreed that it was indeed his voice in the sensational audio tape released by chief minister H D Kumaraswamy. Speaking to reporters here in Hubballi, Yeddyurappa said, "It is true that I spoke to Gurumathakal JD(S) MLA Naganagowda's son Sharanagowda. But he was sent by Kumaraswamy to meet me. It was a pre-planned move by the CM behind the audio clip.”
