Mangaluru, Feb 6: Mangaluru south police team raided and arrested twelve people who were gambling in the open space near Marnamikatte 1st bridge here at night on February 5. The suspects were found gambling ‘Ulai Pidai’ with the help of cards. Police confiscated Rs 8,380 and other items from the suspects.
The suspects are identified as Ganesh(47), resident near NMPT college, Hosabettu, Surathkal, Mangaluru; Sachin(42), resident of Stany compound, Jeppu Bappal, Mangaluru; Pravin(43), resident of Karkera compound, Bolar, Mangaluru; Bhasker(60), resident of Udyavar village, Manjeshwar, Kasargod; Mustafa Sadabba Thodar(48), resident of K C Road, K C Nagar, Ullal, Mangaluru; Uday(32), residing near Mangaluru University, Konaje, Mangaluru; Shahanawaz(29), resident of Emmekere, Vijayanagar layout, Bolar, Mangaluru; Kiran Kumar(50), resident of T T road, Vijayalaxmi garden, near Raghavendra math, Mangaluru; Sudhaker(64), resident of Jain compound, Attavar, Mangaluru; Hemanth(32), resident of 9th block, Krishnapur, Katipalla, Mangaluru; Purandara(45), resident of Mohini Vilas, Science pit, Bengre, Mangaluru and Pravin(40), resident of Jarandagudde Kallige, Bantwal.
Mangaluru district central sub division assistant police commissioner Bhasker Okkaliga and Mangaluru south police station police inspector in charge Mohammed Sharif provided guidance for the arrests. Mangaluru south station police sub inspector Rajendra B arrested the suspects with cooperation of his colleagues.
