Mangaluru, Feb 5: Mangaluru taluk Bharath Seva Dal held a children integration conference at Capitanio school grounds on Feb 5. Nearly 500 school children took part. Mangaluru Corporation standing committee president Pravinchandra Alva who inaugurated the conference said that Sava Dal founder Dr Na Su Hardiker was close to Mahatma Gandhi. “He started Seva Dal to create discipline among children and youth. It has branches in most of the schools in the state. May the life of discipline be an example for children,” he said.
Vidhan Parishad member Ivan D’Souza said that Dr Hardiker was a model in the country. “Let his teachings of discipline be a guiding light to children and citizens in the country. The meeting is meaningful and invaluable to society,” he said.
Sava Dal district president Bashir Baikampady hoisted the flag. Taluk president Prabhaker Sriyan chaired the programme. Kadri Manjunatheshwara temple trustee Suresh Kadri, Bolar Mukhyaprana temple president Navin Shetty, District Dharmik Parishat member Gurupravin Bhat, school joint secretary Sr Celina, Sevadal central committee member V V Francis, education officer Lokesh, Seva Dal district secretary T K Sudheer, Taluk vice president Udaya Kunder, district organizer Manje Gowda, corporators Asha D’ Silva, Keshava Maroli, Sumayya Ashraf, education officer Vishnu Hebbar, Asha, traffic police inspector Gurudat Kamath, Mahalingeshwara temple head Devendra, Taluk secretary Rehana Bajal and others were present. Retired teacher Madhava Mayya compered the programme.
