Mangaluru: 'Aprosachi Vattli', a collection of Konkani wedding songs released

Mangaluru, Feb 5: The book release programme of 'Aprosachi Vattli', a collection of Konkani wedding songs, edited by Irene Rebello was held at the auditorium of Padua College in the city on January 27. Mary and Cyprian Rebello couple released the book by taking the book out from the ash gourd.

Giving a lecture on the Konkani culture, Fr Alwyn Serrao, principal of Padua College, said, "Culture is not like stagnant water. It is always moving. Culture contains specialties of both physical and non-physical things. It is the responsibility of the respective community to make the culture survive and grow."

Luvi Pinto, president of Mandd Sobhann, Anil Lobo, president of MCC Bank and Richard Moras, convener of Konkani writers' association were present on the dais. Author of the book Irene Rebello gave a glimpse of the book to the audience.

Anil D'Cunha of Ujwaad Prakashan welcomed the gathering. The programme was compered by Vitori Karkala.
