Udupi: Bhaskar Shetty murder case - Inquiry of five witnesses held

Udupi, Feb 5: Inquiry of five vital witnesses of the murder case of enterpreneur Bhaskar K Shetty, which became a sensation throughout the state of Karnataka, was completed on Monday, February 4. The remaining witnesses will give their statements in court on Tuesday, February 5.

Summons was given to get the statements of 10 witnesses on Monday. However, only five witnesses deposed in front of justice Chandrashekhar M Joshi, judge of Udupi district prinicpal and sessions court.

Dr Udaya Kumar, lecturer of forensic science department of Fr Muller's hospital of Mangaluru, Maruti Nayak, RTO inspector, Jayanti, sister of deceased Bhaskar Shetty, S V Vinay, deputy tahsildar of Kundapur and Geetalaxmi, senior officer of forensic science laboratory of Mangaluru gave their statements to special public prosecutor M Shantaram Shetty.

The witnesses were cross examined by Arun Bangera, Narayan Poojary Tonse and Vikram Hegde, lawyers representing the accused in this case.

One of the accused, Rajeshwari Shetty, who is released on bail was present during the proceedings in the court. Navneet Shetty, son of deceased Bhaskar K Shetty and accused Rajeshwari Shetty and astrologer Nandalike Niranjan Bhat, both accused in the murder case were inquired via video conferencing.
