Mangaluru: Four regional sports centers to come up in state - minister Raheem Khan

Mangaluru, Feb 4: Sports minister Raheem Khan on Monday, January 4 informed that the state government will soon have four regional sports center to provide international level sports facilities to athletes.

Addressing media here Raheem Khan said, "In order to provide international level sports facilities to athletes, four regional sports centers will be developed. We will also start such six sports centers which will be useful for athletes for their practices for Olympics and other sport events. We have already proposed to allot Rs 500 crore during the pre budget meeting for the same.

 

“We have also planned to start Sports University in Bengaluru and talks are in process for the same. We are looking forward to encourage youth to enter field of sports. The process is on for the development of sports hostels in the state,” he said.

District in-charge minister U T Khader, Mamatha Gatty and others were present.
