Udupi, Feb 2: “There is a budget this year like the way budgets were presented since Narendra Modi came to power. There are schemes in the current budget that are welcomed by people like previous budgets. But we should wait and watch if at least 30% of the schemes announced in the budget get materialized. People remember only what is shown in the TV on the day of budget. None of those announcements have become a reality and benefited people,” alleged Byndoor JDS leader Ravi Shetty.
“We hope that at least 50% of the schemes announced in the budget for people are realized for fear of elections. Modi knows how to make promises during elections. He has made such promises this time too.”
“Paying money to farmers is election gimmick and restricted only for publicity. Let the central government give up making hollow promises like applying ghee to the elbow,” he urged.
