Karkala, Jan 18: The policemen belonging to the anti-naxal force stumbled upon two gun-totting youngsters in the Nooralbettu forest, a naxal-infested area. Both the youths however, succeeded in giving the policemen a slip.
Reserve police sub-inspector Chandrashekhar H M was engaged in combing operations in the above area when he found two youngsters with guns in their hands. When questioned, the two introduced themselves as Dinesh Gowda and Sridhar, from the local village. They also said that they did not have the licence in their possession at the moment, but promised to bring them from their homes later.
They never came back. As such, suspicion among the policemen is gaining ground that they were naxal activists. The policemen have intensified their search operations to nab the two.
