Mumbai, Jan 12: Sadhana Shikara honorary awards will be presented to veteran journalist, litterateur and short story writer K T Venugopal, veteran poet, litterateur and popular teacher B S Kurkal and renowned theatre artiste Shailini Rao, stated a press release issued by Karnataka Sangh vice president Bharat Kumar Polipu.
K T Venugopal (KTV): He is of Kasargod origin, serving as a journalist since the past four and a half decades in the metro. He is one of the few journalists to have been blessed with critic sense. KTV is a distinguished interviewing journalist , with several of his interviews with noted dignitaries including Shiv Sena supremo Bala Saheb Thackeray having been published. 'Devakiammana Taravadumane', 'Bala Thackeray' and 'Jugalbandi' are some of his published stories. He is also popular as a bollywood columnist.
B S Kurkal: Bhujanga Shetty Kurkal is better known for his liteary contributions in Tulu and Kannada in the metro and popular for his devotional hymns. He is a teacher serving in the metro for the past four decades. He is also the editor of Bunts Association bulletin, 'Patrapushpa' and an accomplished singer, and both yakshagana and stage artiste. 'Nanna Ninna Antaranga', 'Shravana Lahari', 'Ragarashmi' and 'Chilipili' are his published poetries. He is a playwright of plays,' Mevadada Bhagyalaxmi', 'Samajada Vairi' and 'Siddarta'.

Shailini Rao: She hails from Mangalore and is a Tamil linguist expert, acted in over 50 shows of the play 'Samrat'. She has bagged the 'Bharati Kodlekar' award during the Kuvempu Natakotsav. She is serving as the vice president of Bombay South Canara Brahmins' Association and also convener of its women's division.
Sadhana Shikara honorary awards will be presented to them during the valedictory ceremony of literary – cultural extravaganza that will be held on Saturday January 24, at Karnataka Sangh Dr Vishweshwarayya auditorium, Matunga, here, stated a press release issued by the Sangh.
