Mangaluru, Jan 21: The mutilated body of a youth was found near the railway gate at Kallapu, Padupanambur near Mulky in the taluk on Sunday January 20. He is suspected to have committed suicide.
The deceased has been identified as Venkatesh Bhandary (32), a resident of Indiranagar in Halenagady, who was currently staying at Bykampady.
As per information gathered, Venkatesh had fallen in love with a girl named Shweta and had begun to stay with her at Bykampady. Venkatesh was a driver by profession. He also was working for a concern at Bykampady since the last some years. His parents continued to live at Indiranagar, Halenagady.
Vekatesh apparently committed suicide about 200 metres away to the north of the railway gate at Padupanambur on Saturday night. He ended his life by lying cross Kochuveli train after 8.30 pm.
The staff of Kallapu railway gate found the body. They then conveyed information to Mulky police. Mulky police sub-inspector, Sheetal Alagur, along with Asif, who runs an ambulance service at Padubidri, shifted the body to the government hospital at Mulky.
On the basis of complaint filed by Naveen, brother of the deceased, a case of unnatural death was registered in Mulky police station.
