Byndoor: MP Raghavendra discusses railway station development with Konkan Railway MD

Byndoor, Jan 19: MP representing Shivamogga Lok Sabha constituency, B Y Raghavendra, met Konkan Railway Corporation chairman and managing director, Sanjay Gupta, and discussed with him the issue of improving basic amenities at Byndoor railway station and providing better facilities to the railway passengers.

The MP met Gupta at Byndoor railway station. He urged Gupta to sanction upgradation of the railway station, order halt for Mangala Express train at Byndoor, improve facility at taxi and auto rickshaw stands, provide ATM facility, fix railway gate and construct under bridge for LC 73 and to pursue the matter of doubling of railway tracks.



Sanjay Gupta informed that proposal has been submitted for doubling of railway track stretch for 141 km from Thokur to Byndoor and that the proposal is currently before the cabinet. He gave his nod to provide ATM facility an to improve facilities at the taxi and auto rickshaw stand near the railway station. He however pointed out that half of the cost of constructing under bridge would have to be met by the government if the bridge has to be built by Konkan Railway. About the request to halt Mangala Express train, he assured to take a decision after holding discussions in the board meeting.
