Mangaluru: Confraternity Sunday celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Suratkal

Mangaluru, Jan 14: As a preparation for the annual parish feast of Sacred Heart Church, Suratkal on the outskirts of the
city, the Confraternity Sunday (Compricho Aithar) was observed on January 13 with gaiety and devotion.

The parishoners got together in huge numbers on this blessed day. The Eucharistic celebration began at 4 pm with a grand
procession of the Holy Eucharist. After the procession, the holy mass was offered by Fr Victor Machado as the main
celebrant. He was accompanied by Fr Paul Pinto, parish priest, Fr Sebastian D'Souza, originally from Kuppepadav and Fr
Pascal Cutinha.

Fr Victor Machado read the Gospel and gave the message to the devotees. In his homily, he said, "Our religious rituals
will bear fruit only when we strive for the betterment of the society and the people living in it by following the
religious rules and principles."



More than 2000 people participated in this religious programme.
