Udupi, Jan 8: In pursuance to the call given by Central Trade Union for a two day nationwide strike, National Association of Postal Employees, Group C, National Union of Postal Employees, Postmen-MTS and National Union of Gramin Dak Sevakas, Udupi unit staged protests separately in front of Head Post Office, Udupi on Tuesday, January 8.
During the strike the Postal union members have put-forth few demands such as:
• Withdraw NPS and restore Old Pension System to all.
• Implement all positive recommendations of Sri Kamlesh Chanda Committee report and grant of civil servant status to GDS.
• Fill up all vacant posts in the cadres of department of posts that is PA/SA, postmen, mail guard, MTS, GDS, Postal Accountants, PA admin office and others.
• Settle all the problems arising out of implementation of CSI and RICT
• Membership verification of FDS and declaration of results of regular employees membership verification conducted in 2015.
• Implementation of orders on payment of revised wages and arrears to the casual, part time, contingent employees and daily rated mazdoors as per 6th and 7th CPC and regularize services of casual labours.
• Stop privatisation, Corporatization and out sourcing in postal services
• Very good bench mark should be implemented alter issue of orders that is from July 25, 2016.
• Implement 5 days week in postal and RMS.
• Consider the suggestions by RMS, JCA regarding PNOP and CSI.
• Retention of Civil wing in Department of posts.
• Grant of pension to the promoted GDS based on Supreme Court judgement in SLP
• Cashless treatment facility under CGHS and allotment of adequate funds under head MR and TA.
• Holding of Department council meetings and periodical meetings at all levels.
• Stop Trade Union victimization in the name of unscientific targets.
Hemanth Kumar, president of NAPE, Suresh, secretary of NAPE, Vasudeva Thottam, president of NUPE, Balachandra K R, working president of NUPE, Hiriyanna Madivala, president of NUGDS, Janardan, secretary of NUPE, N Aitha, deputy secretary of NUPE, Ashwath Kumar, secretary of NUGDS, Praveen Jathan, assistant secretary of NAPE grade ‘C’, Subhash Thingalaya, treasurer of NUPE and others were present.
