Kodagu in top 10 while Gadag in top 30 ranked districts in country

Kodagu, Jan 4: Kodagu district has made it to the top 10 list while Gadag bagged the rank among top 30 districts in the country in the World Toilet Day Contest 2018 organised by the Union Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (MDWS).

The MDWS organised a 10-day contest from November 9 to 19, 2018 in which 412 districts from 25 states and union territories participated.

Kodagu ranked one among top 10 districts across India, said an official press release.

The competition was organised to re-intensify the Swachch Bharat Jan Andolan at grassroot level which was led by deputy commissioners and chief executive officers of zilla panchayats.

Various competition ranging from SwachchtaDiwas, felicitating people who performed exceptionally in helping the district to become open defecation free, organising rallies and special cleanliness drive in community areas, to installation of bio-gas plants, held during the 10-day contest.
