Udupi: Hindu Janajagruthi Samithi asks Hindus to celebrate New Year only on Yugadi

Udupi, Dec 28: The coordinator of Hindu Janajagruthi Samithi has asked Hindus to celebrate New Year only on Yugadi and not on January 1.

The coordinator in a press release stated that the new year of Christians starts after midnight on December 31.

“Let Christians certainly celebrate their New Year as per law. We call Hindus to celebrate New Year only on Yugadi. There are historical, natural and spiritual reasons for it. There are no reasons for celebrations on January 1. Drinking on December 31, creating commotion and celebrating New Year by wrong means are not our culture. As per a survey, young people gulp their first drink and smoke for the first time in the celebrations held on December 31. How can the New Year begin in such wrong ways? Bible is being taught now in convent schools in the country. Quran is being taught in Madrasas. But no religious books are being taught in Hindu schools and universities. Therefore, unfortunately Hindus do not get religious education in Hindu majority country. All the religions should be respected. But respecting and following are different. Following is a mental conversion.

“Nearly 14 lac Hindus convert to Christianity every year after getting lured by money. Out of 7 states in the north east and Nicobar Islands are Christian majority states. As much as 80% to 90% population is Christian there. There are 28,000 families i.e. one lac people in Ullasnagar, near Mumbai who have become Christians. The conversion of Hindus begins because of celebrations of their feasts. Conversion has become a big problem for the security of the country. Therefore, Hindus should celebrate New Year only on Yugadi.

Hindu Janajagruthi Samithi creates awareness about it through different mediums including distribution of hand bills, display of flex, exhibition of books, holding programmes of interpretation etc. DC and police department have been requested to stop wrong celebrations,” said the press release of Hindu Janajagruthi Samithi district coordinator Vijaya Kumar.

    Good work by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti. At least there are few organization to guide Hindus and take care of Hindus.
    For we Hindus New Year is on Yugadi.

    I think Hindu Janajagruthi samithi giving false information. Majority Hindu students study in christian institute and let the Hindu students blame that the christian schools are trying to convert them. Before election BJP RSS trying to polarise voters. They cannot win this time on development agenda. Frustrated because they lost in Hindu Majority State.

    This fool does not know that Christians do not celebrate new year at all. Yes. They go to church to thank the Lord for all the help that is rendered and the blessings given for the year gone by and also to pray for all the blessings for the new year.
    This is the problem with unpad leaders of chaddi gangs. No wonder that a unpad is leading a country like INdia
