Kundapur, Dec 27: A young couple from Kumta, who were in an affair since three years, surrendered to the police at Shankarnarayan near here on Wednesday December 26.

Nagaraja Bhat (26) and Nagaratna Dattatreya Hegde (21), both residents of the same village in Kumta were in a relationship since three years. They left their native place three days ago fearing outlash from the family members and resided at the house of the people known to them at Tharekodlu near Siddapur. The mother of the missing girl filed a missing complaint at Kumta police station unaware of the developments. The lovers came to know about this and duly surrendered to Shankarnarayan police to prevent any further confusion.

Kumta police arrived at Shankarnarayan after they got the information about the couple and took them back to Kumta. As the lovers have expressed their intention to get married, no case is registered at Shankarnarayan police station.
