Bantwal, Dec 25: Bishop emeritus of Mangaluru, Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza, inaugurated the newly built Holy Saviour hall at Agrar near here on Monday December 24.
After purifying the hall, he prayed for the blessings of the Lord to be showered on the faithful here. He also wished that this hall will be helpful to people from all the areas in and around here and also to people from all faiths.
The meeting programme was inaugurated by former minister, B Ramanath Rai. He hailed the fact that works on the hall were completed within a short period of time.
Local MLA, Rajesh Naik Ulipady Guthu, who felicitated people who executed different contract works relating to the hall, noted that in spite of a number of obstacles, he could take part in this programme because of the grace of God. Noting that being a first time MLA of the region he was participating in the programme, he felt that progress can be achieved if people live in peace and harmony.
Mangaluru SRC provincial superior, Sr Zeena D'Souza, municipal councillor, Gangadhar Poojary and coordinator, Frederick D'Souza, were present on the dais. Vice president of parish council, L Rodrigues, delivered the introductory address. Priest, Fr Gregory D'Souza, welcomed the gathering. Parish council secretary, Vincent Carlo, proposed the vote of thanks. Ignatius D'Souza and Adrine D'Souza presented the programme.
