Mangaluru: Johnlyn Toys invites donations of toys, books

Media Release

Mangaluru, Dec 22: Johnlyn Toy & Book Exchange invites donation of toys and books from those who have and no longer need them to present to deprived children in orphanages and ashrams.

Launched in January by John Monteiro, veteran journalist and author, Johnlyn Toys has already reached out to 250 children in five institutions. According to him, Mangaluru and its suburb alone has 2,200 such children and he is determined to reach out to them with gift hampers of toys, playthings and children’s books. Other books are presented to four local colleges and high schools. For more about Johnlyn Toys, please Google 'Johnlyn Toys'.

In this joyous season John Monteiro appeals to enlightened and generous citizens to donate their unwanted toys and books in presentable condition and thus bring joy to underprivileged children. Johnlyn Toys has placed drop (collection) boxes in educational and religious institutions. However, John Monteiro requests that donors can directly drive into Johnlyn Cottage compound and deposit their donations in the open basement of the cottage even if there is no one to receive them at the delivery time.

The address is: Johnlyn Cottage, Vijaya Bank Lane, Bondel Junction, Mangaluru – 8.
