First Kannada literary conference in Kaup set in motion

Udupi, Dec 21: Kaup hosted its first Kannada literary conference on Thursday, December 20. The conference held in Soorya Chaitanya Global Academy school auditorium was chaired by national award winner Akashvani Tulu and Kannada artiste Muddu Moodubelle.

The conference was inaugurated by Padmabhooshan professor B M Hegde. He said, “All the activities that are meant for our good are literature. Literature, while giving us joy should say the truth and give courage,” he said.

Kannada Sahitya Parishad district president Neelavara Surendra Adiga and retired professor Alban Rodrigues spoke on the occasion. Kannada Sahitya Parishad former president, trustee Harikrishna Punarooru released a book. Film actress Rekha Rao Hebbar Bengaluru, Padoor Venkatesh Tantri, Fr Lawrence B D’ Souza, district panchayat vice president Sheela K Shetty conveyed their best wishes.



Kaup taluk panchayat president Pundalik Marate, Kuthyar Parashuram temple trustee Shambhudas Guruji and others were present.

Welcome committee president Vedamurthi Kuthyar Kenja Sridhar Tantri welcomed. Harish Katpadi gave an introductory address. Treasurer S S Prasad cooperated. Kaup taluk Kannada Sahitya parishat secretary Vidyadhar Puranik thanked. Welcome committee secretary Kuthyar Prasad Shetty compered the programme.
