Mangaluru: Chain snatcher wanted in two cases arrested in Bajpe

Mangaluru, Dec 20: A chain snatcher wanted in two cases was arrested by Bajpe police on Thursday, December 20.

The arrested has been identified as Thilak (27), resident of Padil, Kattalsar, Paduperar village.

According to police, Thilak is accused in two chain snatching cases reported on December 11 and 17 under Bajpe police station limits.

As the police who were collecting leads of the chain snatcher, they were told that a man resembling the chain snatcher was seen in Balavandi temple, Moodperar village. Police arrested Thilak and questioned him and recovered valuables robbed by him.

A gold chain worth Rs 25,000, another gold chain worth Rs 15,000, a Honda active scooter and cash Rs 3,700 were recovered from him.

Bajpe police station inspector S Parashiva Murthy, police sub inspector Shanker Nayari, staff Prakash Murthy, Chandramohan, Premananda, Shashidhar, Laxman Kamble, Mutthanna Shiraga, Hemanth Gowda, Umesh and Kiran Kumar took part in the operation under direction from DCP Hanumantaraya, DCP Uma Prashanth and assistant police commissioner Manjunath Shetty.
