Beltangady, Dec 17: The annul day of Holy Redeemer English Medium School was celebrated on December 14 with great zest portraying the theme ‘Laudato Si’, save nature. The programme commenced by invoking the blessings of Almighty through a dance. Sarita Rodrigues, teacher in English, welcomed the gathering. The annual report of the school was presented by the principal Fr Jason Monis highlighted the school’s achievement in scholastic and co scholastic areas.
Addressing the gathering the guest of honour Lt Cl Gracian Sequeia, administrative officer, 18 Kar Bn Ncc Mangaluru, narrated his achievements and the hurdles he passed through. He gave a call to the children to respect the parents and teachers and appealed the parents to teach them life’s difficulties and not to give them only comforts by giving them everything.
Fr Anil Dsilva, former headmaster of HREMS encouraged the students for their efforts and involvement in the school activities.
In his presidential address, Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, the correspondent HREMS congratulated the efforts of the children and teachers and their hard work.
The thematic show of the programme was presented by the students from class I to X. the stage took on hues enhancing the mood of every emotion. The karate students exhibited their skills of protection. The melodious chorus by the choir group soothened the ears. The tiny tots of LKG UKG won the hearts of the audience with their innocent steps.
Vincent Dsouza, PTA vice president, Renni Vas, headmaster, Holy Redeemer Kannada Medium, were on the dais. Arshid of Class X, Avin Crasta of class VIII, and Lincy of class X compeered the programme. Mary Suja proposed the vote of thanks. Kavita, Renita Lasrado, and Mary Suja were the conveners of the progamme.
Earlier, flag hoisting and the prize distribution ceremony was held. Casmir Menezes, retired headmaster congratulated the efforts of the teacher and he appealed the children to inculcate the values and develop the talents. Students performed excellent mass drill according to the rhythm of the band set.
