Mudipu: Second day of St Joseph Vaz pilgrim center annual feast celebrated

Mudipu, Dec 7: The second day of the week long celebrations of the annual feast of St Joseph Vaz pilgrim center, Mudipu was celebrated on December 7.

Bishop of Mangaluru, Dr Peter Paul Saldanha offered mass. He said, "Life of St Joseph Vaz is a model for us to be holy. We reflect on his life and become witnesses of Christ by doing simple things with love and dedication. Parents become holy in their own ways when they work selflessly for their children,” he said.

The bishop who visited the shrine for the first time on becoming bishop was felicitated after the mass. Fr Benjamin Pinto presented him a sapling as a memento which was planted by the bishop in front of the shrine.

Fr Benjamin Pinto, director of the shrine thanked everybody. Chief priest of St Joseph Vaz shrine and St Sebastian church priest Fr J B Saldanha, Fr Felix Noronha, Mangaluru diocese priests, deacon Shawn Rodrigues, nuns and hundreds of devotees took part in the celebrations.



Roshan D’Souza, vice president of Mudipu church pastoral council and Marcel D’Souza, secretary were present. Fr Vijaya Machado conducted the programme. Devotees were served meals after the mass.
