Kasargod, Dec 7: Some miscreants pelted stones at vehicles on Wednesday, a day before the Babri Masjid demolition anniversary, and gave rise to an atmosphere of terror.
Stone pelting incidents were reported from national highway at Arbail near Kadmbaru, Manjeshwar, Shiriya in Kumble, and Manjeshwar Udyavar tenth mile. The driver of one of these buses suffered serious injury to his eyes. Wind shields of all the buses were shattered.
A private bus moving to Borkala from Talapady was attacked at 7.30 pm by people who were hiding behind a hillock. Driver, Azees (42), was admitted into hospital at Mangaluru with serious eye injury. Azeez safely parked the bus even after suffering injury.
At 8.30 pm on Wednesday, miscreants who came in a motor bike, threw stones at a Kerala government bus near Sheera temple on Shririya national highway. Kumble police registered case against three unnamed attackers.
A Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation's bus moving to Mangaluru from Kasargod was attacked near Udyavar tenth mile at 11.30 pm.
Because of these incidents, buses moved between Mangaluru and Kasargod on Thursday with delay. They began to run after 8 am. The passengers who were caught unawares, faced problems as a result.
