Bengaluru, Dec 7: Central crime branch police, who are investigating the case of question paper leak of police constables recruitment test, have arrested two persons. Both of them are from Vijayapura and had functioned as agents in the scandal, the police said.
Somegowda and Biradar from Vijayapura were taken into custody and questioned by the police. During the course of their interrogation, it was revealed that they were agents. Additional police commissioner (crime), Alok Kumar, said that there is information about the involvement of some more agents in this racket and they would soon be taken into custody and used as prime witnesses in the case.
Kingpin of the question paper leak racket, Shivakumaraiah alias Guruji (68), was arrested and sent to judicial custody long back. Provisions of Karnataka Control of Organized Crimes Act had been invoked against him in a case of leakage of PU chemistry question paper in the past. As he has indulged in the same crime again, assistance of legal experts would be obtained before filing a chargesheet against him, police sources revealed.
Basavaraju, who has been absconding in the case, is said to be hiding at Thrissur, Kerala. However, by the time police reached there, he fled. The police have spread out a net for his arrest in neighbouring states and once he is caught, they hope to unravel the entire mystery behind this question paper leak which had benefitted hundreds of candidates and also caused trouble for them as the police caught them redhanded.
