Vijayapura, Dec 4: A minor girl, having been unable to stand the misbehaviour of two men who were pestering her to fall in love with them, torched herself. The victim happens to be Prajakta, 13-year-old daughter of Balabheema Narale from Ratnapura village in this taluk.
Although the death occurred on Sunday December 2 evening, it came to light with inordinate delay. The girl's parents have expressed the suspicion that this could be a case of murder.
The police have arrested Shankar Hipparkar (24) and Mohan Yadave (19). It is said that Shankar and Mohan used to trail Prajakata, an eighth standard student, duly pressurizing her to fall in love with them. Prajakta had told her mother about this harassment on Friday. Her mother reportedly advised her daughter to stop attending school and stay at home.
Prajakta was found to have died out of serious burn injuries in the farm house of the family when no one was around on Sunday evening.
