Hassan, Nov 30: In a unique incident, the groom at a marriage function was replaced at the last minute. This change was made on account of a mobile phone message received the previous day.
The marriage of Taresh, son of Kumar from Baikere near Sakleshpur was to be held at Sheenappa Shetty marriage hall in Sakleshpur on Thursday with Shruti, daughter of Vasant Gowda from Kuppagodu in Belur taluk.
Relatives from both the sides had gathered at the marriage hall on Wednesday night. Some religious rites related with the marriage were performed on Wednesday itself. But, on that night, a person who wanted to remain anonymous, sent a photo of the bride in the company of the owner of a shop at Belur where works. He said that the girl and the shop owner had relationship.
Taresh, who was overwhelmed at this information, refused to marry the girl. This gave rise to lot of heartburn and quarrel between the two sides. The police who intervened in the melee, summoned the owner of the shop at Belur where Shruti works. Later, the marriage of the bride was performed with the shop owner at the same marriage function.
