Udupi, Nov 29: The child diseases section of Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Kutpady in the city organized a discussion on the topic 'Anemia in children: decision and solution'.

Dr Janardhan Prabhu, consultant paediatrician and neonatologist, Hi-tech hospital, Ambalpady was the chief guest. The programme was presided over by Dr Mamata K V, medica superintendent, SDM Ayurvedic college in the city. Dr Prithviraj Puranik, HOD of the child disease section was the chief coordinator.

Resource person Dr Janardhan Prabhu explained about the causes and types of anemia, the method of diagnosing the same and the treatement for the disease. He also gave details about the blood test that needs to be done for the other diseases that are seen in children. Then the topic was kept open for the debate.

Dr Nagaratna S J, lecturer rendered the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Dr Anupriya, a student of second year post graduate studies.
