Udupi, Nov 29: The work of much awaited district Rangamandir in Udupi will begin from November 30. The state government has also given green signal to Rangayana building in Udupi.
The district administration has sanctioned 1.37 acres of land in Adi Udupi for the construction of Rangamandir. The district Rangamandir will be built in 87 cents land sanctioned and the remaining 50 cents will be for the Rangayana building. This is a project by Kannada and Culture department of the state government.
The seating capacity of the Rangamandir is 700. With state-of-the-art facilities including provisions for two green rooms, a sound control room, a proper sound system, a generator, all types of cultural events could be held at the Rangamandir. It also has parking place for about 50 cars and about 100 two-wheelers.
