Udupi, Nov 29: A high level meeting under the leadership of Jayamala, in-charge minister for Udupi district and presided over by Revanna, PWD minister, which includes ministers and MLAs will be held at Bengaluru on November 29 at 3 pm due to the urge made by the protesters who are opposing the collection of toll from local vehicles at Hejmady and Sastan toll gates.

This information was given by Dr Deviprasad Shetty, president of the committee that is protesting against the collection of toll and Pratap Shetty, president of Highway awareness comittee. Dr Shetty said that officials of various departments, chief secretary of PWD, officials of Navyug company, MLAs of coastal districts, leader of opposition in the legislative council, Kota Srinivas Poojary and prominent leaders of committees that are fighting against the collection of toll at Sastan and Hejmady will take part in the meeting.

"The collection of toll from local vehicles is continuing as usual at the Hejmady toll gate. Only the villagers of Hejmady are exempted from the toll on producing the local identity card. Due to the outrage expressed by the public at the Sastan toll gate, the harassment to locals is reduced a bit. We will take the decision on the next course of action depending on the decisions that will be taken in the meeting that will be held in the capital," added Dr Deviprasad Shetty.
