Bhatkal, Nov 27: A girl had complained to the personnel of the town police station here about her lover, who she said, had been putting off marriage since l ong for no valid reasons. The police acted as facilitators, summoned both the families to the police station, and ensured that the marriage of lovers was conducted without further delay.

Revanth Naik (23), resident of Hanuman Nagar here, was in love with Hemavathi Naik (20) from Puravarga. The two were in love with each
other since the last five years. The girl repeatedly urged the young man to marry her. It is said that Revanth put forward one or the other reason every time Hemavathi approached him for marriage, seeking more time.

Frustrated by the boy's attitude, the girl went to the town police station here along with her family members on Sunday and registered a complaint. The police asked members of both the families to come to the station. They solved the case through mediation.

Later, the marriage was solemnized on Monday evening at Lord Tirumala Venkataramana temple at Nichchalamakki in the presence of family
members and friends. The police, who gave some sound advice to the newlywed couple, also got bonds executed by both the families before sending them back.
