Bengaluru: Konkani Samudai to hold All India Konkani Poetry Recitation Competition

Bengaluru, Nov 26: Konkani Samudai, Bengaluru is organising All India Konkani Poetry Recitation Competition under the banner of Kavita Trust (R), Mangaluru on December 16 at Carmel Convent School, East End Road, Jayanagar 4th T Block. The competition will start at 10 am and will be conducted in two categories.

1. First: Up to 15 years (born after 01.01.2004)
2. Second: Above 15 years and up to 30 years (born between 01.01.1988 and 31.12.2003)

Venue: Carmel Convent School, East End Road, Jayanagar 4th T Block, Bengaluru

Date and Time: Sunday, December 16 at 10.00 am

Details of competition:

This is an All India level competition and held in two stages. Preliminary stage competitions are held at 15 centres, viz., Kerala (1 centre), Karnataka (four centres including Bengaluru), Maharashtra (8 centres) Goa (2 centres).

The top two winners in each category will get the chance to participate in the All India Konkani Poetry Recitation Competition to be held during Kavita Festh at Mangaluru on second Sunday of January 2019.

Rules:

• This competition will be conducted by officer bearers of Kavita Trust.
• Register your names with the persons mentioned above on or before Dec 12, 2018
• This is Poetry recitation competition, not poetry writing.
• Submission of age proof is a must.
• Participants may recite their own poem or poem of any other poet.
• Minimum time of recitation is one and a half minute and maximum 3 minutes.
• Participant may quote the name of the poem & poet, but no other details shall be explained.
• The participant’s ability to clearly and effectively recite the poem will be evaluated, not the poem itself.
• Before commencement of the competition, participants shall provide to the organizers the copy of the poem duly mentioning on it the name of the participant, address, phone number, email, age and name of the poem and poet.
• Participants can read the poem, but by-heart recitation will be given weightage.
