Bantwal, Nov 20: ICYM Bantwal in collaboration with Pragathi Samithi organised 'Burgyam Festh' to celebrate Children's Day on November 18.
The programme began with the Holy Eucharist. All the children then gathered at Infant Jesus School premises. The celebration commenced with a prayer song led by ICYM members. Celestine Quadras, mother of six, whose three children are into religious mission of Christ was invited as guest of honour. Celestine, Fr Ashwin Crasta, assistant parish priest, Bantwal church, Sandeep Menezes, vice-president of church pastoral council, Richard Dsouza, secretary, Victor Menezes, co-ordinator Pragathi Samithi and Cletus inaugurated the programme.
Various games were conducted by the ICYM members led by Anisha for the students from 1st to 10th std.
Later the Pragathi Samithi conducted an activity for the children. Fr Walter Dmello, parish priest then addressed the gathering on the occasion. Victor gave away the vote of thanks. Viyola, ICYM member compered the programme.
Prizes were distributed to the winners by the dignitaries and all the children present for the celebration were given a memento.
At the end, lunch was served to all. The celebration concluded with baila. It was indeed a joyous day to all the children and the ICYM members as well.
ICYM president Avinash Dsouza and secretary Annet D’Souza monitored the programme.
