Mangalore, Nov 19: The covertive operations of the Sangh Parivar outfits and the BJP have been laid bare by the revelations made by the investigating agencies into the Malegaon bomb blasts. As a result, the BJP has become frustrated and clueless, commented Congress leader and ex-union minister B Janardan Poojary.
Terrorists are not confined to any particular religion or caste. People belonging to all castes and religions suffer death and miseries because of their deeds. As such, every one has to condemn terrorist activities. Seggragating terrorist activities as Muslim terrorism, Hindu terrorism or Christian terrorism is in fact a crime, he added, speaking at a press conference held here on Monday November 17.
Various Muslim leaders have announced in meetings organized at different places, that Islam does not permit terrorism and that those indulging in terrorism are not Muslims. The investigators probing the Malegaon blasts stumbled on the information that the motor bike of Sadhwi Prajna Singh was used in the blasts. Names of Lt Col Srikant Prasad Purohit, Dayanand Pandey etc., tumbled out later. The BJP is not justified in creating hurdles in the investigations by trying to project it as a conspiracy against Hindus, he felt.
Thorough investigations should be held into the case and the culprits involved should be punished. Creating bottlenecks for investigations might mislead the course of investigations. This is a punishable offence. BJP, a national political party, need to understand its responsibilities and extend cooperation for the investigations, he stressed.
If the party does not allow investigations to be continued on terrorist activites or does not cooperate with the investigators, it can be treated as abetment of terrorism. If the BJP tries to use the cover of Hinduism for the investigations, it will be construed as votebank politics, Poojary said.
Reacting to the statement of the BJP that Prajna Singh is not connected with the party, Poojary asked as to whether Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishat is a sister concern of BJP or not. Because, Prajna Singh is an activist of the ABVP, he stressed.
Congress leaders Harikrishna Bantwal, Kallige Taranat Shetty, Suresh Ballal and party spokesman M G Hegde were present at the press conference.
