Bengaluru, Nov 13: The personnel of the city central branch (CCB) police have succeeded in cracking the secret behind the current whereabouts of gold brick weighing 57 kg which reportedly was collected by former minister, B Janardhan Reddy, from a person involved with Ambidant multi-crore scam.

The said gold is valued at Rs 20 crore. The police are now making efforts to take this gold into possession. It is said that the gold was handed over to Janardhan Reddy through his close aide, Ali Khan. During the sustained questioning by the police, Ali Khan reportedly revealed to the police the spot where this gold is currently preserved. The police in the meantime, are continuing with their investigation into the scam.

The police are also learnt to have got evidences about involvement of Reddy in the said multi-crore scam. Therefore, there are chances of the police securing his custody again for questioning. The CCB police also plan to approach the court seeking to cancel the bail granted to Ali Khan, who is an important link in this scam. They want to interrogate him further, based on fresh evidences that have emerged.

During the period main accused in Ambidant scam, Farid, was questioned, he had revealed to the police names of some persons. The police said they would question these persons further and hope to gather more documentary evidences relating to this scam.

In the meantime, the bail application filed on behalf of Janardhan Reddy will be coming up before the court today. The petition had not been taken up on Monday as no proceedings were taken up in the court because of Ananth Kumar's death. The advocates want to argue on behalf of Reddy that this is a politically motivated raid and the police had obtained statements from Reddy under duress. As main accused, Faid and others, have been granted bail, they hope that Reddy too would be able to secure it.
