Kaup, Nov 13: In a complaint filed in Padubidri police station in the taluk, site engineer of a private company functioning within Udupi Power Corporation Ltd (UPCL), Penchal Reddy, stated that a few employees of the company blocked his vehicle on November 10, used abusive language against him, and posed death threats relating to non-payment of bonus by the company.
Penchal Reddy was going home in a vehicle in the company of some of his colleagues after work hours on Saturday November 10, when a few employees, identified as Deepak from Inna, Prateek from Nandikur, Kiran from Yellur and another person stopped the vehicle in front of the arc leading to Goddess Durgaparameshwari temple at Nandikur. They then picked up argument on the issue of payment of bonus to seven employees. They reportedly led their vehicle 50 metres inside the road leading to the temple, forced them to get seated in a white Innova car stationed there, posed death threats and assaulted them, the complaint filed with the police states.
The police have registered a case, and taken up investigation.
