Udupi, Oct 31: Deepavali festival brings new hopes in one’s life. It is also called as the festival of light. Goodudeepa is one of the outer s to celebrate the festival of lights. In the earlier times, the Goodudeepa was made in different styles by people by using available natural materials. During the Deepavali involvement Goodudeepa preparation makes the family members happy.

On this occasion of festival of light Kishoo Enterprises, Udupi franchise of Daijiworld Media (Web, Weekly, TV, Radio) in association with the Lions Club District 317C is organizing ‘Akasha Deepa’, traditional way of making Goodudeepa competition, on Sunday November 4, at Mother of Sorrows Church premises Udupi.

The competition is open for all.

The winner of the event will be taking away a cash prize Rs 5,000, certificate and memento while the second and third winners will be getting Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 respectively with certificate and memento. There will be 10 consolations prize as well. Every participant will get the certificate of participation.

Rules

* Participants have to prepare the Goodudeepa on the spot.
* Participants should get all the necessary items to prepare the Goodudeepa.
* The Goodudeepa should be eco-friendly.
* The Goodudeepa Should be of 3 feet height and should be 2 feet width in size.
* The participants should reach the venue by 2.00 pm.
* Duration to make the Goodudeepa is 3 hours.
* Judges decision will be final.
* Arrangements will be made to display the Goodudeepa.

Register the names of participants by Thursday, November 1 before 6 pm.
