Bantwal: Tanker hits motor bike - rider killed

Bantwal, Oct 30: After a tanker hit a motor bike at Bolangady in Melkar near here, motor bike rider, Hassan Sahiq (28) from Kalinja was killed. The incident happened on the night of Monday October 29.

Hassan, son of Ismail from Kalinja was returning home after completing work at Moodbidri when the accident happened. Severely injured Hassan was taken to a hospital, but he passed away on way to hospital.

It is gathered that Hassan was working for a burkha shop at Moodbidri. The accident happened after a tanker approached the motor bike from behind at high speed before knocking it down. The tanker sped away from the spot. The traffic police immediately got into the act and took the tanker into custody from Mittur.

Bantwal traffic police sub-inspector, Manjula, and other staff conducted scrutiny and registered a case.
