Puttur, Oct 30: M Sanjeeva Shetty, who had become a household name in the district in general and the town in particular, breathed his last in the early hours of Tuesday October 30. He had complained of chest pain.
Shetty had entered the field of textiles business by opening a small textiles store here several decades ago. In later days, he opened mega-sized shops in the town and Mangaluru with huge stocks of variety textiles including those needed for occasions like marriage.
Sanjeeva Shetty always was found to be agile. Even in his old age, he used to come to the clothes store and personally discuss with the customers and sold items. On Tuesday morning, he suffered from acute chest pain. Although he was rushed to hospital immediately, he passed away before reaching the hospital.
