Mangaluru, Oct 25: ‘Parzal-2018’ a YCS inter-parish cultural competition was recently conducted by Episcopal City Deanery (ECD) at Rosario cultural hall.
The inauguration of the event took place through lighting the lamp by the newly appointed vicar general Fr Maxim Noronha. In his message he highlighted that YCS is a platform for training. He called the members to seize opportunities and get empowered. He congratulated the organizers for conducting this event.
The president of the function Fr J B Crasta the dean of ECD in his addressal stressed on the fact that YCS members must give first place to God, then to parents and to their studies, so that each one becomes a good and responsible citizen of the nation.
Valerie Lobo, Varado YCS president welcomed the gathering. The Diocesan Central Council members as well as sponsors were felicitated by the dignitaries. Fr Rupesh Madtha, diocesan director of YCS was present during the function.
Nihal Rego – president of Bendur YCS unit compered the programme. Vinol Dsouza of Ashok Nagar unit proposed the vote of thanks.
Ten parishes participated in the competitions that followed immediately after the inaugural programme. There were events in group singing, memory test, obstacle race, quiz, drawing poetry writing, photo collage and variety entertainment.
Ashoknagr parish team won the overall championship and Bendur parish team were the runners up. The prizes were distributed by Fr JB Crasta.
The concluding programme was compered by Robin, the YCS animator of Bejai parish. Anita Frank, YCS animator of Episcopal warado welcomed the gathering and vote of thanks was rendered by Fr Rohan Dais, director of ECD YCS.
