Panjim, Oct 23: A senior Congress leader, Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco on Monday said that Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar should invite Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev to purify the Congress leaders who have joined BJP as in the past, the former had tagged them as corrupt politicians.

Lourenco was referring to the induction of Congress legislators Dayanand Sopte and Subhash Shirodkar in the BJP. Parrikar had in the past inducted Vishwajit Rane, Mauvin Godinho and Pandurang Madkaikar from Congress in BJP around 2017 State Legislative Assembly Election.

“Parrikar had inducted the same Congress leader in his party who he had tagged as corrupt politicians during his tenure as leader of opposition,” Reginaldo said.

Parrikar had even written a letter to the then President of India naming Vishwajit Rane and Sopte as accused in the illegal mining scam, he said.

“Now Parrikar should call Baba Ramdev and purify all those Congress leaders who he has inducted in the party despite calling them corrupt,” he said.

Sopte and Shirodkar had joined BJP last week resigning as MLA and from the Congress party.
