Mangalore: ‘Rashtriya Tenkana Yakshotsava’ to Conclude on Nov 4

Mangalore, Nov 4: The closing ceremony of the ‘Rashtriya Tenkana Yakshotsava’, will be held at the Town Hall on Tuesday November 4, at 6.30 pm. It will be organized by the
‘Yaksha Manjusha’ team and will include a performance of ‘Ma Mahishamardini’, a Yakshagana in Hindi.

Speaking to mediapersons on Saturday November 1, Vidya Kolyur, director, Yaksha Manjusha, said that Rajyotsava award winners and senior Yakshagana artistes Surikumeru K Govinda Bhat and Patala Venkataramana Bhat, will be honoured on the occasion.

Ananthakrishna, president, Karnataka Bank, will preside over the function. Yakshagana scholar Dr Prabhakar Joshi will felicitate the award winners. Kumble Sundar Rao, president of state Yakshagana academy, and Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, president, district Kannada Sahitya Parishat, will be the chief guest.

The short film ‘Rashtriya Tenkana Yakshotsava—Ondu Olanota’, will be telecast on the occasion..
