Manipal, Nov 3: Viola Lewis a second standard student of Holy Rosary English Medium School in Kundapur was felicitated following her success at the state level chess competition which was conducted in memory of Kalya Devaraya Shenoy at Manipal in the city.
Viola who also won the state level chess competition in the below seven category organised by Bangalore Youth Centre was felicitated for her achievement on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Viola , in her chaste and pure child-like mind expressed her desire and aim high and participate in international competitions.
Seeing her keen interest in chess, her parents and her elder brother encouraged her and supported her by giving special training under the guidance of Babu Pujary. Viola is now determined to bag more awards.
The young state champion will now participate in the inter-state level competition under seven age group category to be held at Nagpur from December 31.
The champion who will be travelling by train for this competition hopes in the near future to travel by airplane and literally 'fly high' !
